The Chamber is partnering with the Rushford EDA and Southeast Minnesota SCORE to offer a series of Business Transition Seminars in Rushford this spring and summer. As we heard from UMN-Extension at the 2018 annual meeting, 70 percent of Greater Minnesota small businesses owners are age 52-70. We were also presented with an overview of what businesses can do to be prepared for a transition. The spring SCORE seminars will provide more detailed steps for businesses thinking about transition in the next few years or prospective buyers interested in business ownership.
Attend one or all of these offerings on the following Wednesdays: April 24, May 15, and June 19. Each seminar will be 60-75 minutes, likely scheduled over the lunch hour but times may change depending on participant feedback.
The second seminar is Business Planning for Small Businesses, Farms & Entrepreneurs:
This seminar will be valuable to anyone thinking about starting a business or contemplating a change within an existing business. Attend to learn more about the business plan and the planning issues of which any small business person, farmer, or entrepreneur needs to be aware. We will cover why a business plan is valuable and the most recommended tool at any time in a business’s life cycle. The Business Plan touches on all aspects, including:
- your business description and organization,
- your market and competition,
- your products and services,
- your marketing and selling,
- your management and personnel,
- your financials and reporting, and
- your investor requirements.
Lunch provided to pre-registered attendees, courtesy of the Rushford EDA. Register by calling 507-864-3338 or email email@example.com by May 13.
