The Andor Wenneson Inn was built in 1904 along the tracks of the Southern Minnesota Railroad, now the beautiful Root River State Bike Trail. Built by businessman W. Andor Wenneson, the hotel served rail travelers coming through Peterson for many years. Bluffview Campground is located in scenic Rushford, MN. This area of Southeast Minnesota offers beautiful views of bluffs, streams, forests, and wildlife, including the soaring bald eagle. Our partially wooded sites have easy access to the Root River Trail – a 60-mile bike trail that runs along the Root River. Rushford is a not-to-miss destination on the Root River.
Cushon’s Peak Campground is on the Root River and the Root River Bike Trail. Each campsite has a campfire ring and picnic table. The campground has modern, heated, clean bathrooms and showers. In addition to the bike trail, enjoy over 5 miles of hiking trails on-site. Cushon’s Peak is home to the SEMBA Bluegrass Festival every May and August.
Geneva’s Hideaway in Peterson offers studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments by the night or extended times. A 2-night minimum stay is required during May through October. Accommodations are air conditioned, non-smoking, and have a fully-equipped kitchen. Geneva’s rents canoes, kayaks and tubes for outings on the beautiful Root River and transports guests to and from river landings.

Across Hwy 43 from Creekside Park you will find the Rushford Northend Campground. There are eight RV sites with utility hook-ups, several tent sites, and shower facility available. Reserve a site by calling Pam’s Corner Convenience store at 507-864-7949.
Having 10 RV sites with utility hook-ups, this campground is right on the Root River State Bike Trail, next to the City Park, and a few blocks from the Root River water access. Reserve a site by calling Peterson City Hall at 507-875-2222.
